The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) announces the winner of the 2004 Award for Outstanding Achievement

Cherry Hill, New Jersey – April 16, 2004 -- The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) announces that Myrna Mamaril, MS, RN, CPAN, CAPA, was the recipient of the 2004 Award for Outstanding Achievement, which was presented to her at ASPAN’s 23rd annual National Conference held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This award recognizes and honors an individual whose dedication to excellence has furthered the art and science of perianesthesia nursing.  Ms. Mamaril is awarded complimentary registration, airfare and four nights hotel accommodations to ASPAN’s 2005 National Conference as well as a handsome engraved crystal plaque.

Ms. Mamaril represents the professional practice of perianesthesia nursing at the highest level.  As one of her nominators stated, “Myrna passionately believes in living a life of great fulfillment that is best demonstrated through the act of caring, as defined by the art of nursing”.

In her capacity of Naval Reserve Officer, Ms. Mamaril has had a great impact on Navy nursing. She augmented staffing during Naval deployments to the Persian Gulf and during humanitarian missions to Haiti and the Baltic states.  The scores of military personnel who have benefited from their time with Ms. Mamaril are too numerous to count.
