The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) announces its 2007 – 2008 National President

Cherry Hill, New Jersey – April 27, 2007 -- The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) announces that Susan Fossum, BSN, RN, CPAN, became the national President at its 26th National Conference in Anaheim, California April 15 – 19, 2007.

Ms. Fossum is currently serving as the Educator/Staff Developer for the University Surgery Center / Children’s Surgery Center Operating Room and PACU at the University of California, Davis Medical Center.

Susan is a diploma graduate of University of Southern California/Los Angeles County School of Nursing and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 1996 and is a Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN). She has been a member of ASPAN since 1989 and has served on several committees, and as Region One Director. Susan has been published in JoPAN and AORN, conducted clinical nursing research and lectured both locally and nationally.

The focus for Susan’s term of office is Advocacy; Being the Voice for patients, nursing practice and the nursing profession.
