American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses is Accredited as an Approver of Continuing Nursing Education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation

Cherry Hill, NJ – November 14, 2008 -- The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) has successfully reapplied for and retained national accreditation status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. The re-accreditation recognizes a continuum of excellence in a provision and approval of high quality continuing nursing education.

Maintaining ANCC Accreditation status for another full cycle (August 2008 – August 2014) is recognition for the excellent education provided by and approved by the Society, and underscores the commitment of ASPAN’s staff to strive hard to work together to meet the continuing education needs of the nurses the society serves.

ANCC national accreditation as a Provider and Approver of continuing nursing education is a confirmation of ASPAN’s resolve to ensure the highest quality continuing education possible.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s system for accreditation of continuing nursing education is a voluntary peer-reviewed accreditation process. ASPAN submitted to an in-depth analysis of its continuing nursing education program to determine the capacity to provide quality continuing education activities for nurses. ASPAN’s ANCC accreditation status, which includes annual reviews, is valid for six years. ANCC is the largest and most prominent nurse credentialing organization in the United States.
