ASPAN Safety Committee

The ASPAN Safety Committee exists to promote a safety culture for perianesthesia nursing practice.

ASPAN’s infrastructure promotes collaboration across committees and workgroups to best address and meet safety strategic goals. Committee partnerships are formed between: Clinical Practice; Standards & Guidelines; Education; Research and Evidence Based Practice; the strategic work teams; and perianesthesia practice experts.

The environment of care is guided by research and evidence based practice. Within the environment of care, the nurse’s foci are:

  • clinical practice
  • assessment
  • education
  • organizational structure
  • cue appreciation
  • quality measures
  • staffing
