Happy PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week!

Perianesthesia Nurse Awareness Week (PANAW)--what a wonderful week it is! As we celebrate this week, February 4-10, our theme is PeriAnesthesia Nurses: Compassionate, Caring, Competent. I hope you take the time to reflect on the significance of all this embodies. Through the entire continuum surrounding surgical, diagnostic and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia, sedation and analgesia, the perianesthesia nurse is ever present. Your involvement in the care of your patients encompasses a deep commitment to compassionate care. Your experience and dedication to elevating your knowledge and skills ensures the care you provide every day is exceedingly competent. High tech and high touch--compassionate, caring and competent--this describes you, the perianesthesia nurse, every hour of every day.
