Congratulations

  • Congratulations to Magdalena G. Smith for receiving her Masters of Arts from Teachers Columbia University.  Maggie has been an employee of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell for 38 years.  She has worked at the Perioerative Department for 8 years.

In-Memoriam

  • Genevieve Dauro, Oct. 23, 1928 - Aug. 13, 2010

    Genevieve "Jenny" Johnston Dauro, 81 of Huntsville passed away Friday. She is the last surviving of seven children. She received her R.N. degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis and a B.S.N. from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a past president and founding member of ALAPAN, the Alabama Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, served on the board of directors of ASPAN, the American Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses, and was past president, Women's Auxiliary of the Huntsville Power Squadron. She loved boating, cruising and travel.

    Survivors include her husband, Vincent A. Dauro Sr.; sons Jay Dauro and fiancée Sarah Gaddy and Vincent Dauro Jr. and wife Leighanne Dauro, all of Huntsville; granddaughter Amelie Nolen of Clarksville, Tenn.; granddaughter-in-law Melinda Downing of Clarksville, Tenn.; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Adam and Lauren Dauro of Huntsville; and granddaughter Alisa Dauro of Birmingham.
