Upon review of ASPAN’s Strategic Plan and our B.A.G., describe your vision as a national leader to keep the organization current and relevant in the existing health care environment to meet the needs of our membership. How will you assure ASPAN is strategically positioned to accomplish our goals and objectives?

The opportunity for our society to be the central source for perianesthesia nursing knowledge, research, public information and policy is now. As Region 4 Director, I will operate as a link between the components and the ASPAN leadership.  I will work with the components to promote educational opportunities and provide innovative suggestions for funding.  I will support component interest in evidence based projects as the foundation of our practice.  I will assist components to develop new marketing tools to promote membership recruitment and retention and I will serve to inspire and mentor members who come forth and participate within ASPAN’s network.  I will encourage all members to think of the future of nursing, where we are, where we are going and who is watching.  I will to commit to form a liaison with legislative bodies that shape healthcare policy.  I believe together as one we can become stronger, and be the voice of perianesthesia nursing.
