Upon review of ASPAN’s Strategic Plan and our B.A.G., describe your vision as a national leader to keep the organization current and relevant in the existing healthcare environment to meet the needs of the membership. How will you assure ASPAN is strategically positioned to accomplish our goals and objectives?

ASPAN’s future as the leader in perianesthesia nursing is bright.  Our members look to ASPAN to be on the cutting edge of technology and knowledge while supporting the human touch that is so important to our field.  As a member of the ASPAN Board of Directors, I would encourage and support the development of committees and SWTs that address these issues.  As a member of the PDE Committee, I have learned the value of research and more research to produce a usable product that allows nurses at the bedside to deliver the care our patients have a right to expect.  We must look at educating our nurses in the new trends and ways to review the time tested aspects of perianesthesia nursing that are accessible and affordable.  ASPAN is a strong, forward thinking organization and I would like to have the chance to be a part of its exciting future.
