Welcome to the ASPAN Governmental Affairs Page

The purpose of this committee is to monitor and review federal and state laws, regulations, and administrative actions that affect perianesthesia nursing and its practice.

Because the extent of the political process is so expansive, the ASPAN GA Committee's primary focus is on federal issues, while Components' GA Reps monitor state issues.

This site hopes to:

· Educate members about the legislative process
· Develop a communication network
· Provide monthly GA updates
· Provide GA alerts on important legislative/policy issues

We encourage you to use this site to network with each other. If you have any interesting information, ideas, or suggestions, please pass them along. Please feel free to contact Maureen McLaughlin, the Committee Chair, at aspan@aspan.org with any questions or concerns.
