Florida Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses:

FLASPAN's mission is to provide education and to promote the professional knowledge, competence, and growth of nurses working in all phases of pre and postanesthesia care, thereby enhancing the care rendered to people undergoing anesthesia and/or surgery in hospitals and ambulatory care settings.

 

Established in 1977, the Georgia Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses contributes to the advancement of our nursing specialty practice. Rooted in education, the mission of GAPAN is to establish an organization for networking and advancement of PeriAnesthesia Nursing with an emphasis on continuing education, community service, and research.

Illinois Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses:

ILSPAN, founded in 1976, is a component society of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) serving perianesthesia nurses in Illinois and eastern Missouri.

 

Hawaiian Islands PeriAnesthesia Nurses:

We seek to provide the PeriAnesthesia nursing community with the educational and professional resources necessary to promote the highest standards of care for Hawaii.

 

Indiana Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses:

  The Maine Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses is an association dedicated to the promotion of the highest standards of professional practice in the perianesthesia setting. North Carolina Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses NCAPAN is the North Carolina Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, a non-profit organization. It is the state component of the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).

Oklahoma Society of Perianesthesia Nurses:OSPAN exists to promote quality and cost effective care for patients, their families, and the community, through public and professional education, research, and standards of practice for all perianesthesia nurses, including those in Phase I and Phase II PACU’s, Same Day Surgery units, Endoscopy Labs, Cath Labs, and all other areas where IV sedation is administered.
  Ohio PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association: OPANA, founded in 1979, is a component of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) serving the perianesthesia nurses in Ohio and the Northern Kentucky area. Our mission, like ASPAN's, is to unite perianesthesia nurses to promote quality care for our patients and the community through the exchange of knowledge for public and professional education, research evidence, and standards of practice.
 

PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association of California:

PANAC is a component member of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses.

 

In the late seventies, the nurses of the Recovery Room were aware of the need for education regarding new anesthetic agents, technology and new surgical procedures.  Same day surgery was on the horizon. The momentum grew as they formed groups with area hospitals and in 1983, the groups united and drew up a charter to become the Pennsylvania Association of PeriAnesthesia  Nurses (PAPAN)

Rocky Mountain PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association RMPANA, founded in1982, is a Component member of The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, serving Colorado, Wyoming and the panhandle of Nebraska.  The Rocky Mountain PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association advances nursing practice through education, research and standards.
