Hello Mike, My Health Care System requires newly licensed staff to attend EKG interpretation class (8hrs). Then they follow up with annual online courses. Though my staff is still hesitant in measuring and naming the rhythms when placing Pre and Post OP strips in the EHR. Good Luck! Roxann

New hires at our facility are required to take 2-four hour classes for EKG. We can either complete the in-person class or test out of it. Through our Healthstream site, we are assigned modules on a rolling basis. We have to keep up our modules for yearly education expectations. |

Hi We are looking at redeveloping our EKG course for nurses. We are doing some benchmarking with other institutions to see what they have found effective for their staff. Would you be willing to share how your hospital delivers EKG education and assesses competency? Do you use any online or app based modules to aid in practice or education? If you have a class how long is your class? What if any pre-work do participants perform? Thanks Mike |
