Does your Phase I/PACU have a timeframe for when unused opioids must be wasted? (Within in a policy, for example 60 minutes from pulling the medication, immediately after the patient discharges from Phase I etc.)

The timeframe for wasting medications is to have it done before the patient leaves the PACU. If it is not done, it is difficult to do. It definitely needs to be done before the nurse leaves for the day
