ASPAN is entering an exciting new chapter, one grounded in who we are, why our work matters, and what we aspire to achieve together.
Perianesthesia nurses care for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their healthcare journey. We prepare, protect, comfort, and care for them when it matters most. Our work has a profound impact on patients and their families, and this purpose will guide ASPAN into the future.
Our new strategic direction reflects the future we aspire to create and how we will work together to make it a reality. The six Pillars of Excellence provide a clear framework for where ASPAN will focus its priorities and investments to advance our profession and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
We know we cannot accomplish everything at once. This plan is not about doing more; it is about focusing our collective energy, resources, and expertise on the priorities that will make the greatest difference, with clear objectives, accountability, and measurable progress. This future will not be created by the Board or National Office alone. It will be created by all of us. Every member, volunteer, educator, researcher, and perianesthesia nurse has a role in shaping what comes next.
