Is there a guideline or recommendation for discharge criteria for same day discharge of total abdominal hysterectomy pts. Is the minimum stay 4 hours in recovery?

I have worked at various facilities caring for same day hysterectomies. The patient has to meet the discharge criteria from anesthesia and the surgeon. The patient has to ambulate and void. Pain must be controlled. There is no specific timeframe. I have seen an average of 1.5 hours to 6 hours.
