I would like to know what's the standard orders you have when a patient arrives to PACU from surgery. Is it already in place in your institutions when patient arrives in PACU . Or do we have to contact anesthesia later for orders for pain/nausea?.Is there an ASPAN standard in place for this or is it institution based?

Every facility I have worked in usually has a PACU order set, with the anesthesia provider to provide a minimum of , O2, VSS, IV fluid, discharge orders, narcan, pain and nausea meds at their discretion, as well as often BP medication parameter orders if BP needs to be treated. I have not researched actual ASPAN guidelines regarding this.
