I'm curious what experiences you're having with GLP-1s and surgery patients? Are your anesthesia providers asking patients to hold their GLP-1s (Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc) prior to surgery?

We are asking patients to hold for one week prior to surgery.

Thank you. I'm going to share an article with my PACU group from the ASA stating to hold for a week if dosed weekly and to hold day of if dosed daily irrespective of whether the GLP-1 is prescribed for DM II or weight loss.

We hold weekly meds for 7 days and daily meds DOS.
