Do they plan to have something else in place? It would seem to be a HIPPA violation and the patient's would have a complete lack of privacy. This is addressed in the standards in the responsibility to the patients: "maintains patient confidentiality, dignity, and privacy" (pg 15). This is also addressed on page 37: "Safeguards are in place to protect patient's privacy and personal health information". On page 65 in equipment for the PACU : "means to ensure patient privacy". As I questioned above, I would wonder what they would implement to ensure patient confidentiality.
